Dr. Kevin Meador
President / Evangelist
Dr. Kevin Meador is a full-time, itinerant evangelist from Decatur, Mississippi. He is also the president of The Prayer Closet Ministries, Inc. In 1978, Dr. Meador received Jesus Christ as His personal Lord and Savior at the age of twelve. At the age of nineteen, he surrendered to God's call to full-time ministry in 1986. He received a bachelor's degree in Bible and Church History from Mississippi College in 1989, a Master of Divinity in Biblical Languages from The New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 1992, and a Doctor of Ministry Degree in Preaching from The Reformed Theological Seminary in 1998. He has served churches throughout Mississippi until he entered full-time evangelism in 1996.
Dr. Meador's burning passion is to lead people into a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. His message and ministry are summed up in the words of the apostle Paul, "For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified" (1 Corinthians 2:2). Dr. Meador preaches that the crucified and resurrected Lord Jesus Christ is the only Savior and Hope for sinful men and women.
His ministry also focuses on prayer evangelism-praying for the lost. God has burdened him to write and teach on the subject of prayer evangelism. He says, "God's call to share the gospel is also a call to pray for the lost. You cannot separate these things. They are crucial to leading people to Jesus Christ in faith and repentance." He longs for a revival of broken and fervent pleading for those who are outside of Jesus Christ, "We must pray for the lost. There are no substitutes for this. We must share the gospel, but no evangelistic program or outreach can replace fervent praying. If we are going to reach people for Jesus Christ, if we are going to spread the gospel to every human being in this world, believers must pray for the lost."
